The exhibitions titled “Giannetto Fieschi. The Experience of Art,” held at the Villa Croce Museum of Contemporary Art in Genoa (from February 24 to April 30, 2022) and at the GAM Gallery of Modern Art in Genoa Nervi (from February 27 to April 30, 2022), represent the third and fourth parts of the major exhibition project “Giannetto Fieschi. An Anthological Exhibition.” The conceptual focus of both exhibitions is not the Museum, but rather the Artist’s Home, in keeping with the 20th-century European tradition. Villa Croce is, in fact, a splendid 19th-century villa overlooking the sea; The Nervi Modern Art Gallery is located in Villa Saluzzo Serra, a 16th-century noble residence surrounded by a beautiful park, expanded and remodeled between the mid-18th and early 20th centuries. “We are transforming the Art Exhibition into a House of Art, arranging works, materials, paintings, sculptures, and furnishings to establish a dialogue with the villa’s interior spaces, welcoming those who wish to experience and occupy them. We would therefore not be surprised to encounter a tall, reserved, cultured, austere, and brilliant gentleman there; at times incomprehensible, yet suddenly unique in his sensitivity and delicacy.”
Le mostre intitolate “Giannetto Fieschi. L’esperienza dell’arte”, allestite presso il Museo d’Arte Contemporanea Villa Croce di Genova (dal 24 febbraio al 30 aprile 2022) e presso la GAM Gallery of Modern Art di Genova Nervi (dal 27 febbraio al 30 aprile 2022), rappresentano la terza e la quarta parte del grande progetto espositivo “Giannetto Fieschi. Una mostra antologica”. Il fulcro concettuale di entrambe le mostre non è il museo, bensì la casa dell’artista, in linea con la tradizione europea del Novecento. Villa Croce è infatti una splendida villa ottocentesca affacciata sul mare; la GAM Gallery of Modern Art di Genova Nervi ha sede a Villa Saluzzo Serra, residenza nobiliare cinquecentesca circondata da un bellissimo parco, ampliata e rimaneggiata tra la metà del XVIII e l’inizio del XX secolo. “Stiamo trasformando la Mostra d’Arte in una Casa dell’Arte, disponendo opere, materiali, dipinti, sculture e arredi in modo da instaurare un dialogo con gli spazi interni della villa, accogliendo chiunque desideri viverli e abitarli. Non ci stupiremmo quindi di incontrare lì un signore alto, riservato, colto, austero e brillante; a tratti incomprensibile, ma improvvisamente unico nella sua sensibilità e delicatezza.”
