The Ganassini Institute, founded by biochemist Domenico Ganassini (known for synthesizing vitamin PP), is rooted in rigorous scientific research, initially applied to the pharmaco-biological sector and later to skincare with the creation of the Rilastil line. This philosophy, which conceives beauty as a form of profound care and personal regeneration, has given rise to an original collaboration with ten young artists from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts to create the Istituto Ganassini Collection for Contemporary Art.
The core of the project is the symbolic analogy between a tube of cream and a tube of paint: both are aluminum containers containing a malleable material designed to improve the quality of life, both biologically and aesthetically and culturally. Through research that combines science and visual experience, the artists have transformed the dermocosmetics tool into an art icon, exploring the values of the female body, dignity, and “sustainable beauty.” The result is a collection of ten works that demonstrate how the Institute’s solid pharmaceutical tradition can serve as a muse for contemporary expressive languages.
